Dr. Shirazi's road to finding medicine as a career was unconventional. She worked in multiple medical offices while studying Law in college. Her love of travel led to embarking on extended medical mission trips which ultimately sparked her interest in medicine and more specifically, in surgery. She has a passion for the outdoors including hiking and camping, tennis, and dance. She understands how important it is for her patients to want to be active and walk without pain. This was what helped her choose podiatric surgery as a speciality and is the driving force in her quest to make patients better.

Dr. Sara Shirazi is a board certified podiatric surgeon treating both adult and pediatric patients.  Following podiatric medical school , Dr. Shirazi completed an intensive residency at one of the most prestigous programs-  St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center/Tufts University in Boston, MA where she subspecialized in complex revisional and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.

During her tenure in Boston, Dr. Shirazi trained under podiatry and orthopedic team physicians for the Celtics, Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox and the Boston Ballet. She was elected Editor-in-Chief for the National Foot and Ankle Review, and has authored numerous research publications. She has even authored a chapter in a well-established surgical textbook to guide other surgeons in technique and skill.

Dr. Shirazi has a love for education and teaching.  She has given lectures to local cycling clubs, physical therapists, as well as other surgeons on a regional and national level.

Dr. Shirazi's philosophy for treating foot and ankle pain and deformity is rooted in identifying and addressing the underlying causes and doing what is truly best for her patients in the long-term. “Treating only the symptoms without regard for the cause usually leads both the patient and their doctor down the wrong path.” She has a particular interest in helping patients understand the mechanics of the foot, especially the impact that deformity and muscle imbalance have on the development of foot and ankle pain.

In her free time, Dr. Shirazi is devoted to medical missions.  She has traveled to the Amazon Jungle in Peru and Ecuador, providing treatment to patients with limited access to proper care.

A board-certified surgeon who specializes in treating adults and children for all foot and ankle problems, Dr. Shirazi welcomes you to her practice! All physicians at Pasadena Orthopedics Inc., pride themselves on excellent patient care and attentiveness - beginning from the first phone call when setting an appointment.

“It is a privilege to be a part of your care!”
